A Biophysical profile (BPP) is a prenatal ultrasound that is used, typically in the third trimester, to determine the foetus' health and well-being during pregnancy. Using a rating device, the ultrasound is carried out. Monitoring of foetal heart rhythm, muscle tone, movement, breathing and AFI is used in the ultrasound. Not included is the Non-Stress Test.
